I've decided to give the site a completely new look - so here it is! What do you think? Any feedback would be appreciated.

1973 AVO RS1600 BDA

Biog:

Dave's special baby!! When first bought UMX was white but he then dicovered first registration was in black. At first just a body repaint was on the cards.
That was then though! Its funny how a project just keeps growing!
UMX is now a mint top spec beastie!!

The BDA is one of only two known RS1600 Escorts to be in original factory black.
Makes this little beauty very rare in deed!

Body:

Steel AVO bubble arches!!
Engine bay AVO Decals all replaced.
Certified new AVO VIN plate and Body Plate.
All badges and chrome work replaced with new or rechromed.
New Chrome Roof Arial
Fully Restored to Original Black Paintwork

New 1/4 bumpers and brackets.
Re chromed rear bumper.

New Cibie head lights and plastic bowls fitted, new bulbs etc.
AVO Aux 2+2 Lamp Brackets
2 Iode Super Oscars
2 Iode Oscars
Pair period Lucas Tin Relays.

Engine:
Modified 1700 Cosworth BDA
BDA rebored with Cosworth pistons and rings
Billet steel crank, steel rods, Comp bearing shells
BD3 Inlet and Exhaust cams
Heavily Ported and Polished Head
New valve guides, tappets set up, new cam belt
New steel lightened flywheel, clutch plate, pressure plate, and release
bearing and new
All new gaskets and seals etc.
Twin 48 DCO SP carbs
Twin K+N Air Filters
Lucas electronic ignition
New electric fuel pump / filter regulator
New uprated oil pump, water pump, etc
Mocal Multi Row Thermostat controlled Oil Cooler
All braided Stainless hoses and Aloy Fittings were possible through whole sytem and Catch Tank.
Internal Aux Oil Temp/Pressure guage.
New alternator
New polyvee belt kit (new alternator, crank and water pump pulleys)
New radiator core fitted, with new Kenlowe fan and thermostat.
New hoses.
Crinkle Black Painted Cam Cover and correct Chrome Filler Cap on wire.
Approx estimated power 170+ Not known as not run in yet !
Alloy Sump Guard
Car is fitted with concealed fuel pump and ignition isolators

New slim period battery
Polished Alloy Battery cover

Transmission:
Std 2000E 3 rail with new seals, and gear selector bushes. Rear axle:
Strengthened case with rebuilt Limited slip diff 3.77 ratio. New prop UJ's fitted

Suspension:
Front:
New Bilstein front struts
New 175 lb. coil springs
New roller top mounts
New Polished Alloy strut brace
New quick rack and rubbers, new column UJ and bushes
New world cup cross member and engine mounts.
New track control arms
New double width anti roll bar assembly
New wheel bearings
New wheel studs

Rear:
New wheel studs
All new bushes.
New single leaf 116 lb. springs.
1.5 inch lowering blocks
New Bilstein shocks

Full PolyFlex bush Kit throughout Whole Car
All Suspension / Diff etc Powder coated in Black.

Brakes:
All flexible brake lines in new braided Goodridge
All solid lines in new copper
New slave and master clutch cylinders
New master brake cylinder
New silicon brake fluid

Front:
6 pot billet callipers and new vented discs

Rear:
4 pot billet callipers.
New wheel bearings, brake pipes.

Wheels and Tyres:

15" Group 4 MiniLights
New tyres (BIG!!)

Interior:
Powder Coated Full Car Roll Cage
Period Ford Buckets re-trimmed in Beta Pattern Cloth
Rear seat re-trimmed in Beta Pattern Cloth
New headlining.
New boot mat.

Aerospace Quality Carbon Fibre trimming to:-
Dash Surround
Passenger Dash Facia
Custom Glove Box
Front Door Tops
Rear Quater Tops
Every nut, bolt, clip and washers replaced in Stainless where possible.
